A New Musical Comedy event by A STAGE KINDLY

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

Following the success of the mini-musicals festival 'Feast of Snacks' and the new-writing spectacle 'April Revue' last month, The A STAGE KINDLY New Musical Theatre Initiative are reprising some of the highlights of these shows in a very special celebration of musical comedy. Featuring the hilarious shorts by American writers Michael Gordon Shapiro and Mark Harvey Levine 'HMS Pinafore' a G&S pastiche, 'The Charmed Life' about a girl's mysterious good luck, and 'Climb The Smallest Mountain' about a miniature golf tournament and a host of stand-alone cabaret numbers by several international writers, BITESIZE is a real treat for all fans of musical comedy.

A STAGE KINDLY began life by staging several acclaimed new-writing revues before staging feature length productions of musical dramas including Soviet Zion, Don't Cry Butterfly, Ballets Russes, and Maya. This summer they are celebrating musical comedy, giving some of the highlights of their catalogue of new-writing from around the world another snatch of limelight alongside the three most popular mini-musicals from the 'Feast of Snacks' mini-musicals special which made its UK Premiere last month.

The King's Head Theatre is London's first pub theatre, founded in 1970 by Dan Crawford. It has seen 45 West-End/Broadway transfers and has two more West-End transfers upcoming this summer. Artistic Director Adam Spreadbury-Maher has continued this success, establishing a programme of Opera and Musical Theatre, reinventing the venue as London's Little Opera House. It is now home to a repertory season of in house Opera productions by resident company OperaUpClose (with Co-Artistic Director Robin Norton-Hale) and at the forefront of new writing theatre and musical theatre from Good Night Out Presents.
